About Me

I guess the best place to start is the very beginning.
I was born February 9th, 1983, in Richland Washington. I was adopted at birth by my parents. At the time my parents had one other child, my sister Adrien. She was also adopted from another family. She was 5 years old when I came to the family.
My parents are both from California. They were married in the temple(Mormon thing) in San Diego I think. I'm not exactly sure how long they stayed in California before moving to Idaho. By the time I came along, they were in Idaho(I think).
I spent my entire life growing up in Coeur d'Alene Idaho. We moved a few times, but nothing more than 15 miles. I attended private, and public schools in the area. Lake City Junior Academy, Ramsey Elementary, back to Lake City Junior Academy, Lakes Middle School, Lake City High School. I also did a few semesters at the local community college.
I spent a lot of time in the Cub Scouts/Boy Scouts program, and received my Eagle Scout at the age of 18.
My parents have been self employed for as long as I remember. Growing up I got to visit a lot of different places with them. Because of the financial freedom they enjoyed, I've been to a lot of different exotic places as well. My parents and I got our SCUBA licenses in Maui, and spent a month scuba diving there. We also spent a week in Tahiti doing the same. My parents love Hawaii, and liked to visit as often as possible. For some reason, I actually complained about going there. It felt like a second home, I know my way around downtown Honollulu almost as well as my home town. I wish I could visit again. Lots of great memories with my family there.
I always wanted to be a pilot growing up. I use to play a flight simulator game on the oldest computer in the world. It was a gift from my grandfather. Forever I was always intrigued about flight. I took a discovery flight while I was in the Boy Scouts, and I was like a kid in a candy store. Well, I was a kid, in a candy store. It was awesome. Some while after that, I took my first lesson, with no plans of going beyond the first. I was again amazed. I had spent so much time playing flight sim, and fantasizing about flying. Being at the controls for the first time was absolutely amazing.
Nearly 5 years later I started flying lessons, with the intent of achieving my license. I spent a lot of money, and nearly finished. However, as things go, I ran out of money. At the time I was working for my parents, and had been given some time off. Which was great for flying, but bad for making money, to pay for flying. With nearly 30 hours of flight time logged, almost finished, I had to stop. I had used all my cash, and even over charged my credit card.
I got a new job working as a computer tech for a call center. During this time I tried flying, but it was so few and far between, that each lesson was more of a review, than learning new material. I was wasting time, and a lot of money. At this point I was beginning to accept that I would never be a pilot, and if I was it would be for fun on the weekends.
My parents believed very much in my desire to follow this dream, and have helped me tremendously. They pushed me to pursue this dream, and have supported me in any they could. After almost a year of procrastinating, I finally had everything in order to start my flight training. This wasn't going to be a lesson a weekend, this was going to be full time.
In September of 2005 I started training at Flight Safety Academy, in Vero Beach Florida. Starting from scratch, with no previous flight experience credited. In December 2005 I received my long awaited Private Pilots License. Since I have done a lot of time building for Commercial pilot requirements.
I don't have any long term goals with aviation. Other than wanting to instruct here at the school for a while, I think I will probably go back to school.(again) I don't know though. Whatever happens, happens.
